It is reputedly the oldest hotel in England and its ownership has just changed hands.

The Old Bell Hotel is a Grade 1-listed, 13th century hotel with 34 bedrooms in the market town of Malmesbury in Wiltshire. It sits alongside the 12th century Malmesbury Abbey.

New owners are the US-based business, Whim Hospitality.

The Old Bell Hotel underwent a recent restoration which enhanced many of its original features, including a fireplace in the restaurant which dates back to 1220.

The Old Bell Hotel has a restaurant and bar as well as two rooms, the Library and Garden Room, available for private meetings and events for up to 60 delegates.

The Old Bell Hotel reopens on 17th May.
