Birmingham Assay Office is reopening its meeting and events facilities from Monday 12th April.

Birmingham Assay Office was founded in 1773 to provide assaying (testing) and hallmarking of precious metal items include diamonds and gemstones.

Birmingham Assay Office moved in 2015 from its original premises in Newhall Street in the city centre to a new purpose-built facility in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter – improved and extensive meeting facilities came with the move.

The main Elkington Suite, named after the 19th century Birmingham silverware company, is a versatile space for conferences, large meetings, training courses, presentations and events.

The Elkington Suite is fully equipped with state-of-the-art AV equipment including a ceiling-mounted projector, large screen, lapel microphones, speakers and laptops.

The Elkington Suite will accommodate up to 70 delegates and can be arranged in a variety of ways - all adhering to Government social distancing guidelines with attendees at least one metre apart and following stringent coronavirus health and safety standards. These include deep cleaning before and after each booking, with hand sanitisers available on arrival.

The Boulton Room is available as breakout space, for board meetings or for a refreshment or lunch break. The Boulton Room will accommodate up to 14 delegates.

The Birmingham Assay Office is less than half a mile from the Jewellery Quarter station, and just over one mile from Birmingham New Street Station.
