A space rocket carved from fire retardant polystyrene and finished in emulsion paint was centre stage during a two-day promotional launch by the European Space Agency of its Ariane 5 space rocket. Although slightly smaller than the real thing, we thought the model was an interesting prop to create a 'wow' factor at the conference. It was created by Basildon-based Sculpture Studios who have over 20 years experience working in both scenic set building and sculpture.

The Choice Locations booking team have just spent a week in London checking out all manner of venues. Amanda and Caroline were checking out conference venues in London. I was viewing hotels. Sally viewed a mixture of new hotels and training venues whilst Andy was checking out new hotels in the City of London. Each member of the team has written a report:

We have just had a very busy weekend on the allotment – not just weeding but harvesting as well. I settled down to cook dinner on Sunday evening and I am very proud to say everything on the plate came from the allotment except the gammon! I’m not ready for livestock just yet.

Karen from the Chartridge Conference Company visited last week, primarily to update us on the venues in the group. There have been no new additions since Lydiard House in Swindon joined the collection two years ago and refurbishment work is ongoing at all the venues, but there were two nuggets of information she left with us.
