Another new hotel and apartment complex is planned on a site at the edge of Birmingham city centre.

The plan, recently published, seeks to regenerate a 4.2-acre industrial plot at 193 Camp Hill, in Digbeth which is currently occupied by a Swiss coil manufacturer.

The project would see the construction of seven new blocks, ranging from three to 26 storeys. The mixed-use site would contain a 167-bedroom hotel in an eight-storey block plus 480 apartments and townhouses as well as general commercial space.

The project would support the transformation and regeneration of the Digbeth Creative Quarter in Birmingham. The site itself is within walking distance of the city centre.

Plans currently await approval by Birmingham City Council.

The former Royal Angus hotel in the centre of Birmingham which closed twelve months ago is currently undergoing a £25million refurbishment. The project will see two new floors added to the building as well as a rooftop terrace.

The hotel is set to reopen as a DoubleTree by Hilton in autumn 2019.

The hotel will be the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Birmingham. It will have 186 bedrooms and feature a Mr. White’s English Chophouse restaurant, a Marconi Coffee shop plus four meeting and events suites.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Birmingham is adjacent to St Chad’s Queensway - across the road from Birmingham Snow Hill station and a short drive from the M6 at junction 6.

A new boutique hotel is set to open in the centre of Birmingham in what was once home to a nightclub.

Plans have been published which would see the conversion of a series of units including vacant offices in Summer Row, on the edge of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, into a new hotel. The hotel will have 52 bedrooms plus a new restaurant. A late 2019 opening is anticipated - subject to planning approval.

Summer Row is developing a reputation for its restaurants. It already includes the high-end Indian restaurant Opheem plus an Italian restaurant Legna.

Summer Row at ‘the entrance’ to the Jewellery Quarter is just north of the city centre and a short walk from both Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Snow Hill stations.

IHG have just opened their second voco-branded hotel in Solihull. The hotel – voco St. John’s, Solihull - will be managed by Kew Green Hotels. It follows the opening of voco St. David’s, Cardiff. 

voco St. John’s, Solihull has 180 bedrooms. The hotel has recently completed a major refurbishment of its bedrooms, together with the lobby and the hotel’s restaurant and bar.

voco St. John’s, Solihull boasts an excellent range of meeting and events facilities with more than 1,230sq-mt of meeting space across 13 different rooms, with the largest accommodating up to 700 guests.

voco St. John’s, Solihull is located just off Solihull town centre with plenty of on-site parking. It is a five-minute walk from Solihull station which offers a regular service to London Marylebone and a ten-minute journey into central Birmingham.

The go-ahead has been granted to build a new Maldron Hotel in the centre of Birmingham. The £40million project will result in a 330-bedroom four-star hotel.

The Maldron Hotel will comprise three blocks ranging from four to 12 storeys.  It will be located in Gough Street and Suffolk Street – a five-minute walk from Birmingham New Street station and the city centre.

The site is partially occupied by a former print works. More recently it has housed a cultural centre.

The new Maldron Hotel will be the Dalata Hotel Group’s second hotel in Birmingham. The group acquired Hotel La Tour close to Moor Street Station in 2017 which now operates under the Clayton brand.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts UK has announced plans to open a new hotel and conference centre in Birmingham, as part of a major regeneration project in the city.

The group is overseeing the development of a 195-bedroom Aloft hotel and an adjacent conference venue in Birmingham’s Eastside area.

The development would form part of Birmingham’s Big City Plan – a 20-year city centre masterplan which aims to transform the Eastside area into a thriving business, leisure, cultural and learning destination.

The Aloft Hotel would include a 120-seater restaurant, a cocktail bar and a fully equipped gym.

The conference venue would include an 880 sq-mt ‘Affinity Suite’ accommodating 800 people banqueting style; 1,200 delegates theatre style or 500 delegates cabaret style.

Two flexible meeting spaces would also be available, accommodating up to 270 delegates theatre style, as well as a further 13 meeting rooms and two dedicated executive boardrooms for up to 10 delegates.

The Aloft Hotel would be located on the doorstep of the new HS2 station at Curzon Street in central Birmingham. Proposals await approval.
