It is always good to hear from small unusual venues which can offer a range of attractive, well-equipped meeting and events spaces. It makes a pleasant change from the large ‘corporate’ venues which tend to dominate the market.

Here is one you may not be familiar with – Dovecote Events.

Dovecote Events operate the cutely-named Bo Peep Farm. The farm offers rooms for meetings of various sizes.

For smaller numbers meetings can be held in Dovecote Barn, a Grade-II listed building complete with breakout areas and outdoor space. Dovecote Barn will accommodate up to 100 delegates. Dovecote Barn is an historic building but with modern facilities including underfloor heating, breakout spaces, a built-in sound system, atmospheric lighting plus a walled courtyard with a lawn and its own dovecote.

A marquee at Bo Peep Farm will accommodate up to 250 delegates and comes with a range of lighting, AV and staging options.

Finally, Dovecote Events can offer a ‘two-hat’ all-weather tipi complete with wooden flooring, toilet facilities and heating. It can be hired for company celebrations, dining or as a meeting space as part of a team building day. The tipi will seat up to 120 delegates.

Dovecote Events is based in the village of Adderbury, five miles from Banbury and close to the M40 motorway.

Plans have been published to create a new exhibition and events centre together with new offices at Bowcliffe Hall near Wetherby in West Yorkshire.

Bowcliffe Hall is a Grade II-listed mansion house at the heart of a 28-acre estate. It was built between 1805 and 1825 and is the former ancestral home of engineer and aviation pioneer Robert Blackburn.

Bowcliffe Hall already operate a successful range of flexible meeting and events facilities.

The new 3,850 sq-ft exhibition and events centre would be named ‘The Wheel’. Designs for The Wheel recognise Robert Blackburn's contribution to the automotive industry and would offer space for car manufacturers to host product launches and corporate events.

If all goes to plan development work is expected to begin on-site in 2019 with The Wheel operational by the fourth quarter of 2021.
