Kimpton Fitzroy London, the first UK hotel from boutique hotel brand, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has just opened in London’s Bloomsbury.

Kimpton Fitzroy London ‘combines late-Victorian heritage with a quirky, modern vibe.’  It is set on Russell Square within a Grade II-listed heritage building dating back to 1898.

Kimpton Fitzroy London includes 334 bedrooms and suites, a large ballroom, various restaurants and bars, modern meeting rooms and a 24-hour fitness centre.

The hotel, formerly The Principal Hotel London and before that the Hotel Russell, is now named after the original architect of the building, Charles Fitzroy Doll - a British architecture in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

Charles Fitzroy Doll also designed the first-class dining room on the RMS Titanic which sank mid-Atlantic back in 1912 and has lived on in folklore ever since. The restaurant at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel is a close replica of the dining room on the Titanic.  More Titanic connections see:
