BrewDog, the craft beer company which has developed into a multinational brewery is now planning to open a series of beer-themed ‘BrewDog Kennels’ hotels in the UK. The first is BrewDog Kennels Aberdeen, which has recently opened.

BrewDog Kennels will feature bedrooms where the minibar is stocked with craft beers. The décor will features the brewery's logo. Guests will also enjoy the luxury of a mini fridge filled with beer in the shower.

Bedrooms in BrewDog Kennels will include bath robes, a beer book library, board games, toiletries, a coffee machine, a record player/vinyl and a guitar. BrewDog Kennels will also be fully dog-friendly with dog beds and treats on offer.

BrewDog Kennels Aberdeen is located in Union Street in the centre of Aberdeen just above BrewDog Castlegate. Guests can also enjoy beer-themed excursions from a tasting at the 'Beer School' to a guided tour of the company's brewery in Ellon.

Two more BrewDog Kennels are planned in the UK, in Manchester and London. BrewDog Kennels in London will also feature an on-site museum where guest can discover the history of the brewing process.

Last Friday – 15th November – saw the opening of The Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester. It is the latest hotel venture by ex-Manchester United footballers: Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville.

The Stock Exchange Hotel has 40 bedrooms with five different room types including signature suites.

The Stock Exchange Hotel features 'The House'. Spanning 346 sq-mt, this penthouse residence has its own private roof terrace, three en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, two lounge areas, a dining area, a bar and a gym.

'The Bank' is a private dining room in the Stock Exchange Hotel for 20 guests. 'The Vault' accommodates up to 120 guests for a reception or 80 delegates for a theatre style presentation.

Chef Tom Kerridge has also opened his first Manchester operation on the former trading floor of the Stock Exchange.

The Manchester Stock Exchange was built between 1904 and 1906 and opened on the 13th December 1906. It is located in Norfolk Street in the financial quarter of central Manchester.

 

Plans have been unveiled for a new 'landmark', designer hotel in the centre of Glasgow - in West George Street directly opposite Glasgow Queen Street station. The hotel will be housed in a former 1980's office block which is set to undergo a major transformation.

Bloc Hotels will operate the property. It will be their fourth UK hotel joining existing properties in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and at Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal plus a hotel currently under construction also in Birmingham.

The new Birmingham hotel - Bloc Grand Central – will be a 25-storey, 227-bedroom flagship hotel located opposite Birmingham New Street Station.

Bloc Hotel Glasgow will be a seven-storey hotel together with ground level retail space.

Dalata Hotel Group has acquired the 155-bedroom, four-star Tamburlaine Hotel in Cambridge. They plan to rebrand it as the Clayton Hotel Cambridge in the coming months.

The Tamburlaine Hotel opened in 2017 and includes a restaurant and bar as well as meeting and events facilities for up to 144 guests and a gym.

Dalata Hotel Group plan to reconfigure the Clayton Hotel Cambridge adding a further five bedrooms.

Clayton Hotel Cambridge is located next to Cambridge station and is a twenty-minute journey by train from London Stansted Airport.

Dalata Hotel Group now operate nine hotels under the Clayton brand across seven cities in the UK.

Urbanista Hotel is a brand new hotel opening in Liverpool at the end of November. The property, in Bold Street in the city centre, has undergone a major transformation.

Urbanista Hotel will have 19 different rooms and suites of varying sizes. It will feature the Wild Corner suite and a Secret Garden suite – both of which have private courtyards.

Urbanista Hotel will be operated by Voya Hotels.

Guests at Urbanista Hotel will enjoy exclusive discounts at nearby restaurants and bars, have direct access to taxis, private luxury transfers as well as to ‘Tails In The City’ - a special dog creche.

Planning permission has been granted for a new hotel in the centre of Sheffield.

The new hotel will be housed in a converted seven-storey office building in Young Street in the city. Originally constructed in 1995, the building is currently occupied by HM Revenue & Customs.

The new hotel will have 161-bedrooms with a ground floor restaurant and bar. The basement, currently in use as a car park, will operate as a gym. A car park situated to the rear of the building will provide 37 spaces.
