Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminal 2 has just opened. It is the second Hilton Garden Inn property at Heathrow Airport and the only hotel at Heathrow to allow guests direct access to the Queen’s Terminal, via a walkway enabling guests to reach departure gates in minutes.  

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminal 2 is a 14-storey building with 369 bedrooms some with runway views.

Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminal 2 offers complimentary wi-fi throughout, a 24-hour business centre, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and The Shop – a 24-hour, grab-and-go retail space.

‘The Apron’ is the hotel restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Runway Bar on the hotel’s rooftop is expected to open in August.

A major new conference and events centre – The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) opens this summer just north of Aberdeen. It is the new AECC project at Bucksburn, which includes P&J Live and two on-site hotels.

The project will see the creation of a new arena, conference halls, a subterranean multipurpose space, an Energy Centre plus a Hilton Hotel and an Aloft Hotel. The existing AECC at Bridge of Don will also be redeveloped once P&J Live opens.

The new facility is an important part of Aberdeen City Council’s plan to grow the city’s economy.

The new arena will have a maximum capacity of 12,500 delegates, and in conjunction with the conference halls and subterranean multipurpose space will allow the venue to compete nationally and internationally for new events.

Conference facilities include nine conference suites, two of which are sub-divisible making eleven spaces in total. Two suites will accommodate over 1000 delegates for a theatre style meeting.

Facilities at TECA will be available for one-to-one interviews, breakout rooms, board meetings through to major international conventions. A full catering package is also available.

The meeting spaces are modern and state of the art in terms of technology. All will have views overlooking the main piazza, which can be blocked out if required.

TECA is located off the A96 near Aberdeen International Airport, six miles north west of central Aberdeen.

Hotel operators, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, have just rebranded the Ramada Encore in Bournemouth as a Holiday Inn following a major refurbishment programme.

All 113 bedrooms at Holiday Inn Bournemouth have been upgraded and furnished with new luxury beds, TVs and charging points. A brand new meeting room has been added with state of the art technology and superfast wi-fi.

Ness Walk is a new hotel which has just opened in the Highland city of Inverness. Ness Walk is a five-star hotel with 47 bedrooms situated in the centre of Inverness on the banks of the River Ness.

Luxury hotel group, Red Carnation, has announced plans to open its first hotel in Scotland in Edinburgh.

‘100 Princes Street’ in Edinburgh will reopen in 2020 as Red Carnation Hotels’ 19th property worldwide following a multi-million-pound revamp of the building. The Princes Street property was home to private member’s club - the Royal Over-Seas League - until 2017.

Red Carnation control a range of hotels worldwide although its principal strength in the UK is in London where it operates six properties:Hotel 41 and The Rubens at the Palace, both in Westminster; The Milestone Hotel and Egerton House Hotel, both in Kensington; The Chesterfield in Mayfair and Montague on the Gardens in Bloomsbury.

Holiday Inn London-Kensington Forum has just unveiled its ‘new-look’ following a multi-million-pound refurbishment.
