The Buxton is a new pub and hotel opening inside an old Victorian building on the corner of Brick Lane and Osborn Street in east London.

The Buxton is named after the local social reformer - Sir Thomas Foxwell Buxton.

The Buxton will feature a ground floor pub, with a standalone open kitchen and bar with counter seating serving a European food menu - plus a seven-storey hotel above with 15 bedrooms.

The bedrooms in The Buxton will have a simple decor, with multifunctional furniture and handwoven textiles. The corridors on the other hand will boast hot pink walls and 1950s patterned carpets.

The Buxton will also feature a rooftop terrace with an honesty bar and a hot tub.

The Buxton is expected to open spring 2019.

Clayton Hotel City of London is a new hotel opening in Aldgate East in the City of London on Thursday January 24.

Clayton Hotel City of London is a 212-bedroom four-star hotel. It will be operated by Dalata Hotel Group. It joins two existing Clayton Hotels in London in Chiswick and Cricklewood. 

The design of Clayton Hotel City of London has been inspired by Victorian textile warehouses. Bedrooms include deluxe, executive and junior suites. All bedrooms are air-conditioned with complimentary wi-fi. They are equipped with an HDTV with Chromecast, a laptop compatible safe, a hot drinks station, an iron and ironing board and a power shower.

Clayton Hotel City of London has a restaurant and bar plus a grill restaurant and a Red Bean Roastery.

Clayton Hotel City of London is located in New Drum Street at the heart of the city’s Financial District and near many of London’s landmarks, including the Tower of London, Brick Lane and The Gherkin. It is a 10-minute walk from Liverpool Street station.

The Dalata Hotel Group operates a further five Clayton hotels in the UK in Cardiff, Leeds, Birmingham, Belfast and Manchester Airport.

The Dominvs Group has acquired Arbor City Hotel in Central London and plans to rebrand it as a Hampton by Hilton hotel.

Arbor City is a four-star hotel located in Osborn Street close to Brick Lane in Whitechapel. It currently has 115 bedrooms and suites plus five meeting and events space with the largest meeting room, the Arbor Suite, seating 120 delegates theatre style.   Arbor City also features the Arbor Lounge - a 30-seater screening room with the latest digital cinema technology and 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound.

Dominvs Group is planning to add around 150 extra bedrooms by converting an open car park area at the rear of the hotel.

Arbor City is a short walk from Aldgate East and Liverpool Street stations.

Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa in Cheshire has published plans for a refurbishment of its Shooting Suite - expected to complete in early 2019.

The Shooting Suite will accommodate up to 150 guests. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities suitable for a range of events including conferences, meetings and training courses.

The main suite will feature colour-adaptable lighting and a modern video wall. The outdoor area is also set to receive a makeover with a landscaped design plus a covered, heated area.

Carden Park is also opening a new £10million spa in summer 2019 featuring 14 treatment rooms, indoor thermal facilities plus an outdoor first floor terrace with views over a new spa garden.

Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa is set in 1000 acres of Cheshire countryside with 196 bedrooms, 18 meeting rooms accommodating up to 400 delegates plus a range of out and indoor team building options.

Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa is 20 minutes from Chester.

Soho House & Co is set to launch its first Mollie’s Motel & Diner in Oxfordshire at the end of January 2019. It will open on the A420's Buckland Services between Oxford and Faringdon.

Mollie’s Motel & Diner will mimic the all-American-style budget motel and diner which have featured in movies and TV programmes from the 1950’s onwards.

Mollie’s Motel & Diner will have 79 bedrooms including interconnecting family and bunk rooms with king-size beds and rainforest showers.

Mollie’s Motel & Diner will include a space to work with access to wi-fi and charging points.

Mollie’s Diner will serve classic American dishes and drinks including an all-day breakfast and a range of burgers. Meals will also be available for collection via a drive-through and takeaway counter.

A general store will serve free tea and filter coffee as well as selling a range of everyday essentials.

Mollie’s Motel & Diner is a dramatic departure from the existing range of Soho House properties which include 23 upmarket, private members’ clubs and hotels in the UK and the United States.

The National Gallery in central London has opened two new outdoor events spaces for 2019: The National Gallery Garden and Jubilee Walk

The National Gallery Garden is accessed by a secret door directly from the main National Gallery building. It offers a ‘peaceful escape from neighbouring Trafalgar Square’. The courtyard is surrounded by jasmine bushes and has views of the National Gallery’s façade.

The National Gallery Garden is available for evenings and all day hire on weekends. It can be hired for private drinks receptions, alfresco dining and pop-up events for up to 60 guests. 

The new Jubilee Walk is located between the two sides of the Gallery. The Jubilee Walk is covered events space surrounded by limestone and glass features. It is suitable for drinks receptions for up to 420 guests or sit down dinners for up to 315 guests.
