birmingham BlocGrandCentralAPlans for the new Bloc Hotel currently in development in the centre of Birmingham have been scaled back.

The new Bloc Grand Central will be located in Hill Street, opposite the entrance to Birmingham New Street Station.

The 26-storey building will now be reduced by three storeys. The hotel will have 227 bedrooms - down from the original 238 rooms.

The changes reflect Bloc’s latest designs which feature more spacious bedrooms and larger bathrooms.

The first Bloc hotel opened in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in 2011. A second hotel was launched at Gatwick Airport in 2014.
