Davenports Brewery to open bar and hotel

birmingham davenportsalcesterroadDavenports, the Birmingham-based brewery, has the go-ahead for a new bar,restaurant and hotel.

Davenports plan to transform a former bank premises in Moseley, Birmingham, into a new bar and restaurant with hotel accommodation.

The former HSBC Bank at 97-99 Alcester Road in Moseley will be converted into a new craft beer venue with 1,400 sq-ft of dining and drinking space on the ground floor plus an outdoor terrace to the rear.

The first and second floors will be transformed into ten boutique-styled double bedrooms.

In case hotel guests are worried about the prospects of sleeping above a rowdy pub, the plans were approved but limiting the pub opening hours to 10am to 11:30pm Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 1am Friday and Saturday and 9:30am and 11.30pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Davenports are aiming for an autumn 2016 opening.
